Micro Rings
Micro rings are small metal rings which are coloured to blend in with your own hair (i.e. blonde, black). They are a lot smaller length ways than fusion bonds.

Micro rings are ideally suited to those with finer hair as they do not add as much thickness as the fusion bonding method (only 250 micro rings are fitted as standard). They can be used with thick hair but they will take longer to fit (approx 8 hours) than the fusion method and therefore be more expensive. The advantage of micro rings is that you won’t need to worry when straightening, curling, dying, bleaching hair etc, about damaging or melting the bond. They are hard wearing and completely undetectable because they are so small. You will need to have them maintained once every 4 weeks or so to help keep them looking great.

Micro rings cannot be removed by yourself and you will need to book and appointment to have them removed. It would be impossible for you to remove tightly clamped metal rings from your own hair without causing damage.

Micro rings are a cold fusion method and as such, all the hair has to be pre-tipped beforehand. This is why they are more expensive than the fusion bonding method as you are paying for the hair, the fitting time and the preparation time.

Fusion Bonding
Fusion bonding is the quickest and easiest way to fit extensions. A small strand of hair is cut from a weft [hair sewn at the top to form a long strip] and a small amount of glue is applied to the hair. This is then placed under a strand of your own hair of the same thickness and rolled using a silicone pad to create a small thin bond. As this is a hot fusion method, you need to be very careful when using heated appliances and certain products so as not to melt or damage the bond.

This method is good for any hair type but as it is the most common and the oldest method, you will probably of heard the most horror stories about this type of method. The horror stories you hear originate from people who have had extensions fitted by someone who isn’t fully trained and qualified. At present, there is no law which states you must be trained and certified to fit hair extensions and this of course is quite worrying. I therefore recommend to anyone who is looking to have extensions fitted that they do so with a fully trained and certified extensionist, preferably one with insurance to give peace of mind. You may wish to look at a portfolio of their previous clients. This is a good way of finding out what their finished work looks like.

Wefting
This method is when sections of a weft are measured and cut to fit the width your head. The weft section is then applied using bonding glue and then secured using micro rings. Depending on how thick you would like the finished result, this method can take upto 2 hours to fit. It is a more temporary method but will still last you a good four weeks.

Clip Ins
This method is temorary and enables you to put in or take out the extensions whenever you wish. The hair will last you for years to come if looked after properly and will still look great when worn. The advantage of these are that you don't have to worry about spending ages washing and styling your lovely long hair as these are very low maintence. Clip-in's do not require an appointment or consultation and they will be sent to you through the post as you can easily fit them yourself. They can be curled, dyed, straightened etc., just as your own hair can be.

Free Consultation
Free consultations are offered to anyone thinking about having extensions fitted. A consultation is vital as it not only gives you a chance to meet me and see a portfolio of my previous clients but it also gives me chance to check the length, colour and condition of your hair and to go through with you in detail the pre-fitting and after-care advice. I much prefer my clients to know everything they possibly can about the extensions and the method they have chosen prior to the fitting, than find out afterwards that they were not what they expected and they cannot look after them. If you live out of the ST area, a phone consultation will be necessary and you will then need to send me a small sample of your hair through the post so that I can colour match it to the extensions for you.
There is absolutely no obligation to go ahead with the fitting after the consultation. I will leave you with the leaflets and you can then decide in your own time if you think hair extensions are right for you and would like to proceed with the fitting.

Please note: A small £40 deposit is required once the fitting has been booked to help cover the cost of the hair & secure your appointment. This will be deducted from the total cost on the day. It is non-refundable if you cancel, however if you would like to re-arrange and you give me at least 24 hours notice, you will not lose your deposit.
