Hair Extension Application Methods
Micro Rings/Micro Loops: The latest innovation in fitting hair extensions is the micro loop which cuts fitting time down drastically compared to the older micro ring method as the hair extension comes complete with ring attatched so a full head fitting can be done in approximately 2 hours (dependant on thickness of clients hair). The metal rings are coloured to match your own hair and are so small they are completely undetectable when fitted. Cared for in much the same way as fusion bonds, however they do need regular maintainence every 4-6 weeks on average to replace any that slip out. They will last 3-4 months with correct care & regular maintainence. Micro rings will need to be removed by myself so as to avoid causing unnecessary damage to your hair by trying to remove tightly clamped metal rings yourself.
Fusion Bonding: This is the most popular method & involves cutting small sections of hair from a weft and attatching these to small sections of your hair using silicone bonding glue. The bonds can be made bigger or smaller dependant on clients hair. This method suits any hair type and lasts 3-4 months before I recommend complete removal. Maintainence is not a necessity with fusion bonding but you can still book in for it if you feel you need or want it and I will check the bonds and replace any that have come out.
Wefting: A temporary method good for special occasions. Sections of a weft are measured and cut to fit the width your head and then applied using bonding glue and secured with micro rings. Lasts approximately 2-4 weeks depending on your after-care of them.
Clip In's: This method is temorary and enables you to put in or take out the extensions whenever you wish. The hair will last you for 1-2 years depending on how often you wear it and how well it is cared for. The advantage of these are that you don't have to worry about spending ages washing and styling your lovely long hair as these are very low maintence. Clip-in's do not require an appointment or consultation and they will be sent to you through the post as you can easily fit them yourself. They can be curled, dyed, straightened etc., just as your own hair can be.
Free Consultations
A consultation is required before having your extensions fitted. A consultation is vital as it not only gives you a chance to meet me and see a portfolio of my previous clients but it also gives me chance to check the length, colour and condition of your hair and to go through with you in detail the pre-fitting and after-care advice and to colour match your hair to the extensions. I much prefer my clients to know everything they possibly can about the extensions and the method they have chosen prior to the fitting, than find out afterwards that they were not what they expected and they cannot look after them. If you live out of the 'ST' postcode area, a phone consultation will be necessary and you will then need to send me a small sample of your hair through the post so that I can colour match it to the extensions for you.
There is absolutely no obligation to go ahead with the fitting after the consultation. I will leave you with the leaflets and you can then decide in your own time if you think hair extensions are right for you and you would like to proceed with the fitting. If you decide to book your appointment on the day then a small deposit will be required to secure your appointment.
