eXtensionelle's hair extensions cause absolutely no damage to the natural hair and are ideal if you want to grow your own hair as the extensions will grow down with it, getting you past that messy in-between stage. The bonding systems enable smaller attachments and because the hair is expertly matched to your own hair colour, it makes them undetectable.

There are now three types of attatchment systems available, fusion (strand-by-strand) bonding, micro-rings and wefting.

If you follow the advice regarding aftercare, the extensions will last you approximately 3 months, depending on how quick your natural hair grows out.

It is recommended you have complete removal after this time as the extensions will have grown down becoming more visible and your natural hair above the bond will start to tangle as you cannot brush above the bonds. You may be able to get four months out of them if your hair grows very slowly but as soon as you have about an inch and a half of re-growth, it's time for you to take or have them taken out.

The hair when fitted looks great curled or straight and is worn by all the top celebrities and used in most major productions. The hair colour never fades unlike home and some salon hair dyes you pay for. The colour used to dye the hair is a stain that prevents fading and cannot be washed out. Therefore, vibrant colours like blue and red will stay vibrant for as long as you keep the extensions in.

The hair I use is 100% remy cuticle correct human hair. Remy hair is the best type on the market and I will not use anything else.

So what exactly is 'remy' hair?

Remy [also known as 'remi' or 'reme'] is the name given to any weft or bundle of hair which is cuticle correct. This means that the hair is laid or sewn in the same direction as it was cut from root to tip so that all the cuticles are facing the same way and will be applied with the cuticle facing down towards the floor. This is so important as if the cuticles and hair strands are not all facing in the same direction the hair when fitted will tangle and knot as you will be effectively backcombing the hair everytime you brush it.

Remy hair is soft and silky to begin with and will stay that way no matter how many times you wash or brush the hair. It will never knot or tangle as long as you look after your extensions and follow the aftercare advice.

You may be fooled into buying non-remy hair because often it is coated in a silicone (conditioner-like) serum which makes the hair feel soft and silky to touch. However, after a couple of washes this silicone serum will wash off leaving the dry coarse hair underneath. You will also then find that after a week or so of brushing, the hair will start to matt up as you are back-combing the cuticles due to the fact they haven't been kept or sewn in the same direction as they were cut.

Don't make that mistake. Remy hair is more expensive but you get what you pay for and no where is this more true than with human hair
